JVC HD56H96 Review
(Retail $4,999)
JVC’s D-ILA stands for Digital direct drive image amplifier. JVC uses LCOS system with a true HD image resolution of 1920 x 1080. This is JVC’s flagship 55 inch projection which is described as the designer pro series with 2 million pixels per chip.
The JVC HD56H96 has features such as:
- ATSC/QAM tuner
- Cable card capable
- Flicker free high resolution picture
- Dual HDMI/HDCP digital inputs
- Dual 1394 (I. link) Connectivity
The look of the JVC HD56H96 is very sleek. If looking at the JD56H96 straight, you would think it was a flat panel display. It has a nice thin bezel around the screen. You have to go close up and find out the thickness. The weight of the unit is 95lbs. In my opinion, the casing of the screen is one of the more attractive ones out there. The warm up time of the TV is 15-20 seconds. The high definition picture is very distinctive and black tones look decent. Watching the image in the JVC HD56H96 at standard definition does not look all that great, but hopefully everything on this TV will be shown in HD. Although it is priced at a premium for their best TV, the Sony 60-inch XBR, the Sony KDS-R60XBR1, should be also compared in your shopping list if you are looking to spend in this price arena.
