Your spending budget
You have decided to take the plunge into a big display high definition television market. The good news is that, as a consumer, you have a few of models of technologies to consider. You should sit down with a pen a paper and write in what you want to spend in that budget. Of course, the main cost of your budget is your television, but there are other costs that you may consider:
1) Furniture – So you decided on the television, but where are you going to put the TV? You have other options like TV stands or cabinets. The presentation of where the television sits is important to factor. As you sit down in your chair, the viewing to the television should be at eye level. You may not consider furniture any may want to build a huge self.
2) High Definition tuner - You bought this television to take advantage of HDTV, so you should consider the costs of HD tuner box/Cable card.
3) Other components - The HD-DVD and Blu ray DVD is a new technology to take advantage of the high definition resolution of a television. These two technologies provide a better resolution in a higher form of data disc.
4) Cables - You need decent quality cables to connect your TV to your other components. Good cables add up in price.
5) Video Games – Video game consoles such as Microsoft X-Box 360 or Sony’s Playstation could be expensive options.
After you take all these costs into consideration, you should have more comfort in this planning stage than plunging into the purchase. You don’t want to say to yourself, “I didn’t know it was going to cost this much?”
