If you want something larger than a 50-inch plasma, that cost less, look no further than the Samsung HL-61617W. This set has a “floating screen” which Samsung describes as light weight design. The weight of the Samsung HL-R6167W is 94.6lbs. Not too shabby.

The setup of the Samsung HL-R61617W is very eye catching. The screen is surrounded by a black base so it looks like a slim flat screen. Attached on the bottom are 2 speakers that are encased in silver. The image technology used in this DLP-TV is a fast color wheel to smooth out fast motion and to reproduce colors. The Samsung HL-R61617W does provide some nice black contrast, but sometimes an adjustment is needed for the brightness. As usual, it will be based on the consumer’s preference.
